Haim Taib

Businessman, Entrepreneur & Philanthropist

Founder of the Taib Group and the Taib Family Foundation, with extensive expertise in national development and capacity building. Over the past three decades, he has led and developed more than 100 transformative national projects across Africa in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and other key sectors.

Over the years, his work has evolved from business entrepreneurship into a holistic approach to development, social responsibility, and strategic philanthropy. This approach connects infrastructure, essential services, financing, and investment with the development of people, communities, and local leadership.

At the heart of his vision is the belief that sustainable growth and resilience are built when countries and communities have the tools, opportunities, and capabilities to shape their own futures.

A Born Entrepreneur

Haim grew up in a moshav in Israel’s Hefer Valley, in a family of immigrants from Tunisia, and as the grandson of a Holocaust survivor. He was raised in an environment where the land, agriculture, hard work, and mutual responsibility were part of everyday life. These early experiences shaped his sense of responsibility and his belief that dreams only become meaningful when we dare to turn them into reality.

After beginning his business career in Israel and Portugal, Haim arrived in Angola in the early 1990s, when the country was in the midst of a devastating civil war. What began as a business opportunity soon grew into a lifelong commitment to the country and its people, rooted in the understanding that a business can only achieve lasting success when it creates value for the communities and society in which it operates.

Strengthening and Developing Nations Across Africa

Throughout his career, Haim Taib has worked in more than 15 African countries, leading large-scale national projects in food security, healthcare, education, housing, and technology. These initiatives have strengthened essential services and improved the lives of millions of people. Among his achievements, he has developed housing and urban community models that created new living environments for hundreds of thousands of people, integrating education, healthcare, water, electricity, and communications infrastructure.

He has also advanced community-based agricultural development models inspired by Israel’s kibbutzim and moshavim, bringing together agriculture, employment, education, and community life while turning local production into a driver of economic growth. This approach has also helped bridge divides between formerly conflicting groups, demonstrating how economic development can lay the foundation for stability, reconciliation, and peace.

International Partnerships and Regional Growth

Over the years, Haim’s work has evolved from individual projects into a broad ecosystem of independent companies, financial capabilities, and international partnerships. Today, the Taib Group operates across multiple markets and countries, bringing together expertise and execution capabilities to advance complex programs on a national and regional scale.

In 2025, he launched the LCID Investment Platform, a nearly $1 billion investment initiative developed in partnership with Angola’s sovereign wealth fund. The platform aims to develop essential social infrastructure along the Lobito Corridor, improving the lives and well-being of local communities. For Haim, the railway crossing the continent represents far more than a major transportation and trade route. It reflects his belief that Africa’s next phase of growth depends on connecting countries, local markets, and continents, creating opportunities on a much larger scale for tens of millions of people across Africa.

Long-Term Social Impact

Haim’s commitment to social impact is inseparable from his business endeavors. It grew directly out of them. Throughout his career, he has been guided by the belief that success is measured not only by what we build, but also by the opportunities we create for others.

In Angola, he established Fundação Arte e Cultura, which works to preserve culture and heritage, provide educational opportunities for more than 2 million children, young people, and students, promote vocational training, and empower women and youth. His involvement with Save a Child’s Heart in Africa also helps connect children in need of life-saving heart surgery with medical treatment in Israel. The Taib Foundation was born from this same vision: transforming experience, resources, and the ability to deliver into a long-term commitment to people and communities.

Investing in Israel’s Future

Alongside his work in Africa, Haim’s commitment to Israel has deepened over the years. Since October 7 2023, he has dedicated the knowledge, resources, and capabilities gained throughout his career to supporting Israel’s recovery and rebuilding, advancing initiatives that strengthen unity, mutual responsibility, and national resilience.

At the same time, he continues to promote long-term initiatives in Israel focused on social welfare, leadership development, and strengthening local authorities. For Haim, this responsibility is both personal and intergenerational. It connects the home and roots that shaped him with the future of Israel and the generations to come. Haim is married to Iris, father to Meital, Maayan, Noa, David, Maya, and Dean, and grandfather to Omer, Ariel, Ori, and Alma. His journey is guided by four core values that have shaped him and the Taib family throughout the years: Excellence, Perseverance, Love for People, and Giving.

“When people can dream, they can create. They can change. They can reinvent themselves and rewrite their own stories. But for some, dreaming is not as easy as it is for others. Humanity’s greatest challenge, therefore, is to ensure that people—all people—never lose the ability to dream of a better life for themselves.”
